Mom's indescribable pineapple pie (version française, cliquer ici)
It is difficult to come up with words to describe this culinary masterpiece. In the end, one must experience it. At that point, words will be unnecessary.
Ingredients:
Crust:
- 2 cups of crushed corn flakes.
- 2 tablespoons of white sugar.
- 1/3 cup of butter.
- Instructions: Mix ingredients together and pat evenly at the bottom of a pie dish. Refrigerate for about 2 hours.
Filling:
- 1/2 cup milk.
- 1/2 cup water.
- 1 pack of Jello instant vanilla pudding.
- 2 cups of French vanilla ice cream.
- Instructions: Put together milk, water, ice cream and pudding powder and whip with a mixer. Place mixture in the refrigerated pie crust. Place back in the fridge for about an hour.
Grand finale:
- 1 can of crushed pineapples, drained (keep the juice aside).
- 1/2 cup of pineapple juice (from the can of crushed pineapple).
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
- Instructions: Heat the pineapple juice in a small pot. Once it's heated, add cornstarch to thicken the syrup. Add crushed pineapple.. Let cool. add topping to the refrigerated pie. Keep in the fridge until it's time to serve it.
