- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 envelopes of traditional yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 4 to 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour.
Ingredients (pizza sauce):
- 1 can (796 ml ) tomatoes
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Oregano
- A pinch of cayenne pepper.
Instructions:
- Mix the first three dough ingredients together and let it sit for 3-5 minutes.
- Mix remaining dough ingredients until you get a homogenous dough which doesn't stick to the sides of your bowl.
- Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let it rise for at least an hour.
- While the dough rises, prepare the pizza toppings.
- Place sauce ingredients in a pot and let it simmer for 30 minutes to an hour.
- At the end, use a potato masher, to make the sauce less chunky.
- When you're ready to make the pizzas, punch the dough with your fist, to deflate it.
- Make a ball of dough and spread it across a single-serve pizza pan or pizza stone.
- Brush the dough with a bit of oil to prevent the sauce from penetrating.
- Add sauce.
- Add toppings.
- Add cheese.
- Bake at 475F for about 20 minutes.
